Cornish
artist Kate Walters is returning to the area with an exhibition of her
latest works: At The Seashore of Worlds presented by Todds Gallery at
The School Creative Centre, from September 25th – 27th.
Walters’
distinctive images, poised on the brink of transformation, combine the
visceral with the emotional, lending the work a powerful psychological
substance. Deep reds, ochres and browns are Walters’ signature strong
earth colours, resonating the physicality of her work.
Twice
shortlisted for the prestigious Jerwood Drawing prize, Walters’ work is
chosen for many juried national shows and her profile continues to grow
nationally and internationally.
Her talks about her working
process, techniques and inspiration are always honest, heart-felt and
elicit strong responses from audiences and in addition to the Artist’s
Talk (1.00pm Saturday September 26th) Walters will be running a Drawing
Masterclass from 1.00pm – 4.00pm on Sunday September 27th.
