Kate Walters’s distinctive images combine a visceral potency with an emotional vulnerability, inviting the viewer into a profoundly personal world. Her signature strong earth colours resonate the physicality of Walters’s work: the body, heart, guts and sexual core.
Since she stopped working as a teacher of Art and Design ten years ago, Penzance based Walters has concentrated on her own work as a full time artist and travelled extensively on research trips including visits to Venice and Berlin.
Her work has recently been included in the Jerwood Drawing Prize, Discerning Eye Exhibition 2006, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition July 2006 and the London Art Fair 2006 amongst many others and her drawings and paintings are in private collections in the UK and Europe.
