This year the todds gallery Christmas commission is Present Tense - Just What I Always Wanted by Ashley Dixon who’s collection of sculptures offers a witty and ironic take on seasonal gift giving.
Continuing with this gently subversive tone, the gallery is showing the work of eight artists who are responding to the title Ultima Yule, which is a pun on Ultima Thule the farthest edge, the extreme limit of travel and discovery, possibly Iceland or a part of Norway or Denmark. Expect the unexpected from Richard Adams, Kath Allsop, Ivar Arnason, Xaverine Bates, Jane Beecham, Nancy Nicholson, Lone Ormonde and Katherine Reekie, including light boxes, mixed media and textiles, ink drawings, paintings and prints.
A selection of design led gifts, jewellery and ceramics are also on sale throughout December, including the fantastic resin jewellery from Jackie Brazil and fabulous hand made ‘celebrity’ tree decorations.
